We are a growing commercial HVAC mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Service Project Estimator / Project Manager to support and manage service-related projects. This role is ideal for a seasoned HVAC professional who understands the full lifecycle of service projects—from estimating and planning through coordination and installation.

We are seeking a full-time candidate, but will also consider a highly experienced individual seeking part-time work (including partially retired professionals).

Position Overview:

The Project Estimator / Project Manager is a dual role responsible for preparing accurate, timely cost estimates for service-related HVAC projects while overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of these projects. This role partners closely with internal groups/field teams, vendors, and customers to ensure profitable, competitive proposals and to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to client expectations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned HVAC professional who understands the full lifecycle of service projects from estimating and planning to coordination and installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate commercial HVAC service projects and job opportunities
• Perform project estimating, including:
• Securing equipment pricing
• Reviewing scope of work and project requirements
• Coordinating with vendors and subcontractors
• Meet with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers as needed
• Understand job-specific requirements including labor, materials, scheduling, and logistics
• Coordinate and manage installation activities from start to completion
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, within estimated cost, and aligned with customer expectations
• Support field teams with technical and project-related guidance

Types of Projects

Projects may include, but are not limited to:

• Rooftop Unit (RTU) replacements and new installations
• Exhaust fan replacements and new installations
• Make-Up Air (MUA) unit installations and replacements
• Commercial heaters, pumps, and related HVAC equipment
• Other commercial HVAC service and retrofit projects
• If experienced enough, then also chillers, boilers, and AHUs

Qualifications:

Required:

• 7+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation requirements
• Experience with project estimating and/or project management
• Comfortable working with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
• Ability to review plans, scopes of work, and job conditions
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a service-focused HVAC contractor environment
• Familiarity with pricing equipment and coordinating logistics
• Background as a service manager, project manager, estimator, or senior technician

Work Environment:
Standard in-office role combined with field visits to project sites. Regular collaboration with sales, field, and operations teams.

Compensation:
Salary Range is $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Supplemental Pay:

Bonus eligible on an annual discretionary basis
