The Team:

The Account Management team sits within a high-growth, strategically critical segment for S&P Global Market Intelligence. We partner with leading hedge funds, private equity and venture capital firms, and private credit managers-some of the most sophisticated clients in the market.

Our clients use a broad suite of Market Intelligence solutions. We primarily represent Data & Research and Risk & Valuation Services, and collaborate closely with our Enterprise Solutions teams to deliver comprehensive, multi-product strategies. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where intellectually curious, commercially driven individuals thrive.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The Account Manager role serves as the primary commercial lead for an assigned portfolio of clients. They are focused on driving net revenue growth by fostering strong client relationships and delivering comprehensive solutions across the full MI product suite.

The AM is the central point of contact, responsible for collaborating across internal functions to deliver a cohesive customer experience. They deeply understand the client business strategies and market demands, which helps them provide client insights and identify opportunities for growth and retention, unlocking a value for both our customers and for MI.

Planning and Execution:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients within a book of business

  • Holistic understanding of the account including business objectives, budget cycles, organizational structure, critical needs, and ongoing opportunities

  • Build multi-threaded relationships across client stakeholders and workflows, serving as a trusted advisor for solving client's business challenges

  • Develop and execute on account growth plans in partnership with Sales Specialists and Business Partners

Renewal Strategy, Proposal & Negotiation:

  • Account Analysis to prepare for renewal discussions

  • Lead renewal and expansion negotiations

  • Work with legal/procurement to finalize contracts and pricing changes.

  • Identify and mitigate account risks

Client Engagement & Coverage:

  • Understand account health and introduce internal resources as needed

  • Build industry knowledge and expertise to advise clients on best practices

  • Establish key relationships and champions within accounts

  • Promote adoption of new offerings, capabilities, or modules

  • Be the voice of the client internally

Cross Functional Coordination:

  • Coordinate resources to develop comprehensive solutions to meet client needs

  • Collaborate with Sales Specialists, Business and Implementation teams to involve the right resources to meet client needs, making warm introductions as needed

  • Provide client feedback to inform product roadmap and service improvements

  • Ensure alignment with CCO Strategy for key accounts

What We Are Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years of experience in sales and/or relationship management roles

  • Strong Excel and Salesforce.com skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive presence

  • Willingness to travel for client visits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with market data, analytics, or financial intelligence platforms

  • Demonstrated track record of driving renewals, upsells, and cross-sell initiatives

  • Consultative, strategic, and commercially minded

  • Intellectually curious and highly collaborative

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is

$150,00 to $165,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
