Job : Full-Time School Social Worker (2024-2025 School Year)
Caseload : Cross-Categorical
Grades : K-8
Location : Elwood, IL 60421
Hours : 35 hours/week
Dates : ASAP - May 30, 2025
Salary : $55,000 - $62,000 / Hourly : $44.64 - $50.32
- Provide social work services to students with IEPs and 504 plans (approximately 23 students).
- Support general education students (approximately 10-13 students) with social-emotional needs.
- Collaborate with the second social worker, who is available two days per week, and other school personnel to implement social-emotional learning programs, such as the Second Step program, within classrooms.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services to students.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Serve as a member of the IEP team, contributing to assessments, goal setting, and progress monitoring for students with special education needs.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between school staff, parents, and external agencies to support student success.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive school climate.
- Attend regular meetings and collaborate with school staff, including the full-time administrative team.
- The social worker in this position will work in close coordination with another social worker who is present two days per week at the Elementary School. On days when the second social worker is not on-site, support will be available from a full-time social worker.
- There is also a full-time administrator present at the school every day, providing additional support.
- Master's degree in Social Work
- Valid Illinois State Professional Educator License (PEL)
- On-site position at an Elementary School in Elwood, IL
- Full-time, 35 hours per week.
- Single-building setting with collaborative team-based support.
