Job Details – Springfield, IL Healthcare Jobs Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract) Location: Springfield, Illinois 62781 Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Designation Start Date: September 2, 2025 End Date: December 2, 2025 (13 weeks, extension possible) Shifts: 4x10-hour evening shifts (10:45am–9:15pm or 12:45pm–11:15pm) (4 shifts per week) Hours per Week: 40 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,570 - $2,640 Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend shift per month On-Call: Approximately 1 per week Charting System: Cerner Scrub Color: Provided Parking: Free with permit Operating Room RN Qualifications Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room Registered Nurse experience in a Level I trauma center Active Illinois RN license (or in application process) BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) Travel nursing experience required General OR and trauma nursing experience required Experience with Cerner charting preferred CNOR and CST certifications preferred Must reside at least 50 miles from facility Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Ability to float within skill set as needed Registered Nurse Responsibilities Circulate and/or scrub in a 23-room operating room, supporting all service lines except cardiovascular Deliver patient care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics Participate in diverse surgical cases: bariatric, general, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, and trauma procedures Demonstrate expertise in emergency management and code response Operate specialized equipment: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables Maintain strict infection control, radiation safety, and universal protocol standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more) Participate in on-call rotation and scheduled weekend coverage Float to other units or affiliate hospitals within scope as needed Apply now to join our Springfield, Illinois healthcare team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
