Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit & Collections Specialist to join our finance team. This role involves managing collections activities, maintaining customer accounts, and collaborating with various divisions to resolve payment issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Make daily collection calls and follow up on past due accounts.

• Document all customer interactions in SAP using FD32 Text Fields.

• Communicate with sales divisions and customers regarding short payments and disputes.

• Collaborate with divisions to resolve short payments and disputes in a timely manner.

• Escalate unresolved collection issues to the Credit Manager as needed.

• Monitor the credit queue and manage or delegate incoming requests.

• Log credit applications and releases into the Application-Order Tracking Sheet.

• Approve credit extensions in accordance with department guidelines.

• Assist the Credit Manager in establishing customer credit limits.

• Place orders on hold based on department criteria.

• Maintain organized files and records; prioritize tasks effectively.

• Perform duties in an orderly and efficient manner.

• Generate financial and administrative reports as requested.

• Support additional finance-related and administrative functions as needed.

• Establish and maintain customer databases.

• Prepare credit applications for review and approval.

• Monitor customer credit limits and risk categories.

• Interface with sales divisions to gather necessary customer information.

• Track and report accounts receivable status to the Credit Manager.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in collection and accounts receivable management.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Experience in credit analysis and credit reporting.

• Familiarity with SAP.

• Invoicing experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing or industry-related collections, accounts receivable, and credit experience.

Work Environment

This position is fully onsite until the candidate is fully trained and up and running. Once training is complete, hybrid flexibility will be allowed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Carol Stream, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
