Employment Opportunity – Ellis Grounds Coordinator

Kendall County is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grounds Coordinator to support operations at the Ellis House & Equestrian Center. This position plays a key role in maintaining the grounds, supporting events, and ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for public use.

Essential Functions:

A successful candidate for this position must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality support for Kendall County operations. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining grounds and landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal upkeep
• Assisting with event setup and teardown, including arranging equipment and preparing event spaces
• Performing general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds
• Monitoring facility conditions and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
• Operating tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Supporting daily operations of the Ellis House & Equestrian Center
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and County policies and procedures
• Interacting professionally with staff, vendors, and the public

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or facility maintenance preferred
• Ability to perform physical labor and operate equipment safely
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid and current driver’s license is required

Work Schedule:

• Schedule will vary based on operational needs
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• This position is on-site in Yorkville, Illinois

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary range: $40,000 - $44,000
