Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 – Prime downtown location near Lake Michigan, parks, museums, and public transit
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2620 - $2690
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract
• Healthcare Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center, Operating Room (OR)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (10:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Call Requirement: One 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
• Floating: Mandatory float within facility and up to 50 miles as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as an Operating Room RN
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Proficient in scrub and circulate roles
• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required
• Preferred: Neurosurgery (crani and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology experience
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (no exemptions for COVID-19; medical/religious exemptions only for Flu)
• Ability to float within scope to meet healthcare facility needs

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
• Scrub and circulate for diverse surgical procedures, including trauma, orthopedic, vascular, urology, and general surgeries
• Participate in call rotation and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
• Float to other units within the hospital as required
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic charting system
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
• Demonstrate adaptability and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment
