Postdoctoral Scholar Position: Patient-reported outcomes, behavioral interventions, and randomized controlled trials
Compensation: The current pay range for this position is $62,232 - $75,564 per year.
Position Description:
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work in the lab of Dr. James Griffith, a clinical psychologist at the University of Chicago, situated in the Department of Ob-Gyn, Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Francesca Farina, a neuroscientist, is also leading research in the lab on women’s brain health. The lab projects focus on clinical assessment, research methodology, and psychometrics to develop clinical measurement tools and behavioral interventions with emphasis on improving quality of life for patients. The projects include both qualitative and quantitative methods. The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for organizing the logistics of the research, contributing to protocol writing, and helping to oversee the execution of the research. The postdoctoral scholar will also contribute to data analysis and write-up of scientific findings.
The postdoctoral scholar will have the opportunity to join a robust and enthusiastic lab, and to collaborate across the School of Medicine and the university at large. The postdoctoral scholar will also assist in organizing and managing the laboratory, contributing to developing new studies, and helping to execute existing studies. The postdoctoral scholar will be mentored by Dr. Griffith and other collaborating faculty as they develop research skills in order to advance an academic career. Support is available for conference attendance. Appointments for postdoctoral scholars are eligible for renewal on an annual basis. Required Qualifications:
Qualifications needed for this position include a PhD in clinical psychology or a related field, such as psychology, economics, public policy, epidemiology, or another public-health-related or clinical field. The scholar must also be versed with scientific writing for both manuscripts and grant proposals. Experience with data analysis is required. The lab mostly uses R for data analyses; knowledge of R is not required, and the postdoctoral scholar will have the opportunity for mentorship and learning.
