Engineer Software 3

We are seeking a Software Engineer III to support advanced Radio Frequency (RF) solutions in a dynamic engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge development efforts that support high-impact technical programs.

As part of a collaborative software engineering team, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software systems. You will play a key role in modernizing development practices through Agile methodologies, automation, and continuous integration approaches. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong technical skills, and a team-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and integration
• Develop software for engineering, scientific, or manufacturing applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technical staff, and end users
• Apply established standards, processes, and tools to ensure quality and consistency
• Support system integration and troubleshooting on target hardware platforms
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience, OR
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Experience with object-oriented programming in C++
• Experience developing graphical user interfaces (GUI)
• Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented design principles
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL
• Experience developing applications on Windows operating systems
• Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile and/or Waterfall
• Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, ClearCase)
• Familiarity with Agile planning tools (e.g., Jira, Rally)
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern C++ (C++11 or newer)
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Batch
• Experience testing, debugging, and integrating software on hardware platforms
• Experience using Qt framework for GUI development
• Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
• Active security clearance is a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.

The pay range for this position is $100.00 - $140.00/hr.
