Outside Sales Representative

Arbon is looking for a proactive Outside Sales Representative to be the primary point of contact to grow a portfolio of stainless steel and aluminum sales with existing and new customers across the Mid-West. You will leverage your industry knowledge and exceptional people skills to understand customer needs, present tailored solutions from our comprehensive flat rolled metal products and service offerings, and secure new business.
What You'll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities
As our Outside Sales Representative, you will be the driving force for sales growth and customer satisfaction in your territory. Your responsibilities will include:
Territory Management and Sales Growth
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed territory sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, market research, and lead generation.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts effectively to achieve mutually beneficial agreements and close sales.
Client Relationship Management and Solutions
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers at customer accounts, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customer requirements and recommend tailored solutions that align with specific material needs, project specifications, and manufacturing schedules.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals.
Product Expertise and Internal Collaboration
- Drive growth and development for our core focus in light carbon, aluminum and stainless steel flat rolled products.
- Simultaneously, develop a comprehensive knowledge of our full portfolio understanding of Arbon's product portfolio, including tinplate, cold rolled, coated products, aluminum, and stainless steel, along with our production capabilities, and service offerings.
- Collaborate closely with our Inside Sales, Purchasing, Scheduling, Production, Quality, and Shipping teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and exceptional customer experiences.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and proactively address issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Market Awareness and Reporting
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and sales forecasts.

- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Excellent ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain organized records.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Multi-metals products experience with a focus on stainless, aluminum, and light flat rolled products.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of proven outside sales experience within the metal service center industry or a related field, demonstrating a solid understanding of flat rolled products, applications, and market dynamics is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required. Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the United States and abroad required.
