Pastry Prep Cook
Ballyhoo Hospitality is seeking a talented Pastry Production Prep Cook to join our team at Buck Russell’s Bakery in Wilmette.

Job Summary:
The Pastry Cook supports our Pastry Chef in baking and ice cream production. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and have passion for creativity in baking and ice cream production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake pastries according to recipes and Pastry Chef and Culinary Directors.
- Prepare different types of ice cream flavors following Pastry Chef’s recipe and SOP’s.
- Assist in organizing and cleaning pastry preparation and pantry areas.
- Assists with the preparation of pastries and ice cream for wholesale and store level.
- Ensures all pastry preparation and presentation is to established specifications.
- Maintain consistency of product with great attention to quality, taste and presentation.
- Maintain positive working relations with all other departments.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of bakery products, production baking experience.
- Previous experience in Ice Cream production is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Ability to remain calm during high volume service or difficult situations.
- Ability to communicate and understand English language
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Maintain ServSafe Food Handlers certification
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of pastry production experience.
