Job Summary: The Engineer VII - Senior Engineering Manager employs creativity , foresight , and mature judgment to anticipate and address unprecedented problems . This role involves making authoritative decisions and recommendations that significantly impact extensive organizational activities . The Engineer VII - Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for setting priorities , reconciling competing interests , and working on programs with complex features . Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Lead a technical discipline team for the organization
- Develop standards and guidelines
- Perform additional tasks as required to meet business needs
- Proficient with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- Master’s Degree or equivalent
- 15+ years prior experience
- Engaged in life-long learning to stay current with contemporary issues
- Established relationships with railroad clients
- Business development skills
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines
- Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO
- Member of a professional practice organization, national board member or officer, recognized expert on statewide activity, and a resource for national activities and organization
