Assistant General Manager

An established, high-volume nightlife venue is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager with a strong beverage background to join its leadership team.

This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves developing bartenders, and is passionate about cocktails, spirits, wine, and creating memorable guest experiences. The Assistant General Manager will play a key leadership role in both daily operations and the continued growth of the venue's beverage program.

• Lead and oversee all bartender and bar team operations
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop bartenders and bar support staff
• Create and manage bartender schedules while ensuring proper staffing levels
• Work closely with the Beverage Director on cocktail program development
• Assist with weekly cocktail features and seasonal beverage initiatives
• Collaborate on major cocktail menu updates and launches throughout the year
• Maintain high standards of beverage quality, consistency, and presentation

• Analyze monthly inventory reports and enter inventory data into company systems
• Monitor beverage costs, product usage, and inventory variances
• Place weekly liquor, beer, and wine orders to maintain proper inventory levels
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors and vendor partners

• Serve as a key member of the management team, helping drive overall business performance
• Lead by example on the floor during service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences
• Coach and develop team members through consistent feedback and accountability
• Assist with labor management, scheduling, and operational efficiencies
• Maintain company standards for service, cleanliness, safety, and compliance
• Build relationships with guests and foster a hospitality-first culture throughout the venue

This position is heavily involved in nightlife operations and requires active leadership during peak business hours.

• Regular closing management shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights
• Two additional management shifts per week, which may include opening or closing responsibilities based on business needs

• Management experience in nightlife, cocktail bars, lounges, upscale restaurants, or beverage-driven hospitality concepts
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer
• Experience leading bar teams and developing bartenders
• Understanding of beverage inventories, ordering, and cost controls
• Ability to lead confidently in a high-volume, late-night environment
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
