Job Description

The Operations Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining technical procedures to ensure efficient daily operations and processes. This role involves working on the floor throughout the day and assisting with the fabrication and assembly of automation cells. The position also requires implementing improvements to safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as participating in improvement projects to solve complex manufacturing issues. Additionally, the Operations Specialist will review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), and improve work instructions and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain technical procedures for efficient daily operations.

• Work on the floor throughout the day assisting with the fabrication and assembly of automation cells.

• Implement improvements to established safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in improvement projects to solve complex manufacturing issues.

• Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), and improve work instructions and process documentation.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.

• Advanced understanding of complex manufacturing processes.

• Experience in a fabrication or assembly environment.

• Experience with process mapping, value stream analysis, and root cause tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.

• Proficiency with mechanical tools, measurement instruments, and mechanical components.

• Understanding of how tooling impacts repeatability, precision, and cycle time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with extruded aluminum is highly preferred.

• Prior experience working at a machine integrator or automation company is highly desired.

• Machine tool exposure is a plus.

• Good computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and data entry.

Work Environment

This role requires working on the floor for the entire day, involving hands-on tasks related to fabrication and assembly. The environment is dynamic, focusing on manufacturing processes, and may involve working with various mechanical tools and components. The role demands a proactive approach to improving safety protocols and processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Loves Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $45.00/hr.
