Senior Staff Accountant
What You'll Do
- Lead key components of the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare and review reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support intercompany accounting and consolidations as the organization continues to grow.
- Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including vendor setup, invoice coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor communications.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve invoice processing, expense management, and AP workflows.
- Help develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a rapidly scaling business.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automate manual tasks, and shorten the monthly close cycle.
- Support ERP optimization initiatives and assist with future accounting system implementations.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with FP&A, People Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, expense tracking, and employee-related accounting.
- Assist the Controller with special projects, operational initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or high-growth startup or technology company experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
- Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, invoice processing, and expense management.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Intacct, or QuickBooks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building processes from the ground up.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
