Production Engineer - Mechanical Design

The Automation Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating, developing, and executing manufacturing schedules aligned with defined objectives. This role supports daily activities related to process development, validation, and change management. The engineer will leverage technical expertise to solve complex problems, develop and execute project objectives, and meet company goals within established timelines for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure robots and complete automated set points for assigned projects and equipment using various robot platforms and software
• Develop design solutions for automation requests across multiple manufacturing categories
• Assist engineers in the development and design of fixtures and robotic end-of-arm tooling per specifications
• Design individual parts and complete assemblies using 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent
• Create robotic cell simulations using Roboguide or equivalent simulation software
• Understand manufacturing and automation processes and conduct feasibility studies accordingly
• Develop technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and processes
• Interface with automated equipment and drive control solutions to eliminate defects, improve cycle times, and reduce machine downtime
• Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to the operation of automation equipment
• Support automation needs for New Product Development (NPD) initiatives
• Apply strong digital logic skills to automation and control challenges
• Train technicians and operators on equipment, processes, and automation systems
• Ensure proper use of power tools and precision measuring equipment
• Travel up to 30% as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Practice, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering and robotic programming for production/manufacturing environments
• Hands-on experience programming and supporting FANUC, UR, and/or ABB robots
• Strong background in automation systems within manufacturing operations
