Field Sales Representative - Senior Care Referral Development

Filro Caregivers is a licensed home services agency based in Lisle, Illinois, serving older adults and families across DuPage County and the western suburbs of Chicago. We are hiring a field-based Referral Development Representative to grow our referral network and expand our presence in the senior care community.

This is a business development role for someone who enjoys working a territory, building relationships, and creating a long-term book of business. The right candidate will be comfortable spending most of the week in the field meeting with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehab centers, assisted living communities, memory care communities, and other senior-focused referral partners.

This opportunity includes a competitive base salary plus lifetime commission on clients you bring to the agency while services remain active. For a motivated salesperson, this creates the ability to steadily grow income as your referral book grows.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in outside sales, B2B relationship development, staffing sales, healthcare-adjacent sales, senior services, or another field-based sales role. Healthcare experience is helpful, but not required. More important is the ability to handle rejection professionally, follow a structured sales process, document activity consistently, and build trust over time.

The right candidate is comfortable walking into facilities, starting conversations with new contacts, following up consistently, and earning trust over time.

You should be outgoing, organized, resilient, and comfortable being measured by activity, referrals, assessments, and new client growth. We provide a structured marketing system, sales tools, training, and support to help you connect with the community in a focused and effective way.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications
    • Proven experience in business development, outside sales, B2B sales, staffing sales, territory sales, senior services, healthcare-adjacent sales, or referral relationship development preferred.
    • Comfortable spending most workdays in the field visiting referral partners, making introductions, following up, and building relationships over time.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to speak professionally with families, discharge planners, social workers, facility staff, administrators, and other senior care professionals.
    • Organized, dependable, and able to manage a referral territory with consistent follow-up.
    • Comfortable using an iPhone and iPad for daily work, including logging visit activity, managing follow-up tasks, email, calendar use, and basic mobile documentation.
    • Proficient with basic business technology, including Microsoft Office, email, calendar tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
    • Genuine compassion for older adults and families, while maintaining a professional, sales-oriented approach.
    • Resilient, self-motivated, and comfortable being measured by activity, referrals, assessments, and new client growth.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in building a long-term book of business.
    • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory are required.
  • You’re comfortable:
    • Meeting with hospital, skilled nursing, rehab, assisted living, memory care, and other senior care referral partners.
    • Walking into referral sources, introducing yourself, and building relationships even when the contact is not expecting you.
    • Speaking with families about home care options in a consultative and relationship-focused manner.
    • Presenting to senior communities, professional groups, and community partners in person or virtually.
    • Collaborating with leadership on outreach strategy, referral source priorities, and weekly activity goals.
    • Tracking your activity consistently so follow-up, referrals, and relationship progress do not get lost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehab centers, assisted living communities, memory care communities, senior living providers, professional offices, and other community partners.
  • Spend most workdays in the field visiting referral sources, making introductions, following up, and identifying opportunities for new client referrals.
  • Manage your assigned territory using a structured outreach system, including planned visits, follow-up activity, scheduled meetings, presentations, and community events.
  • Own your activity, pipeline, and results by consistently working toward weekly outreach goals, referral goals, assessment goals, and new client growth targets.
  • Log field activity and follow-up notes using company-provided iPhone/iPad tools so referral relationships, next steps, and opportunities are clearly tracked.
  • Lead educational presentations for senior communities, professional groups, referral partners, and community organizations.
  • Represent Filro Caregivers at community events, health fairs, networking meetings, and professional gatherings.
  • Speak with families in a consultative, relationship-focused manner to understand non-medical home care needs and guide them through appropriate next steps.
  • Collaborate with leadership on referral source priorities, outreach strategy, messaging, and weekly performance review.
  • Work independently in the field while staying aligned with company goals, service standards, and leadership direction.
  • Approach the role with an owner’s mindset, taking responsibility for follow-up, relationship quality, and long-term referral growth.
