Job Title: Machine Shop Helper – 2nd Shift
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Starting Pay: $18.00/hour
Pay Progression: $19.00/hour after 3 months, $20.50/hour after 9 months

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Machine Shop Helper to support our Tool Room operations. In this role, you’ll assist Toolmakers and Machinists in the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of injection molding tooling. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands and is looking to grow in the precision manufacturing field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in setting up and organizing tools, dies, and components for machining and maintenance

• Clean and maintain tools, molds, and shop equipment

• Operate basic shop equipment (grinders, saws, drill press, etc.) under supervision

• Transport materials and tooling components between departments

• Help with mold disassembly and preparation for maintenance or repair

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace following safety protocols

• Perform basic measurements and visual inspections of tooling components

• Support toolmakers and machinists with additional tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment is preferred

• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools

• Willingness to learn and work with precision equipment

• Good attention to detail and safety awareness

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
