Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing professional for a direct hire opportunity in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of healthcare billing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced medical office or healthcare services environment.

The Medical Billing position supports accurate claims processing, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and revenue cycle operations. Candidates who are organized, reliable, and comfortable working with patient accounts, insurance information, and billing systems will be well positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance carriers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and help resolve billing discrepancies.
- Post payments, adjustments, and account updates accurately in the billing system.
- Review patient accounts, insurance information, and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams regarding billing questions and account status.
- Support general revenue cycle tasks, including account reconciliation, documentation, and reporting.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process medical billing claims and support revenue cycle workflows.
- Follow up on claim denials, unpaid balances, and insurance-related billing issues.
- Maintain accurate patient account records and billing documentation.

- 1-2 years of medical billing, healthcare billing, or revenue cycle experience.
- Working knowledge of insurance claims, payment posting, denials, and patient account follow-up.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when handling billing data.
- Comfortable using medical billing software, electronic health records, or similar healthcare systems.
- Strong communication skills for working with insurance carriers, patients, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism with confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a healthcare services, medical office, clinic, hospital, or physician practice setting.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, or payer-specific billing guidelines.
- Experience with claim scrubbing, denial management, or insurance verification.
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality standards.
