Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Two full-time Special Education Teacher positions are available at an elementary school serving students in grades K-5. These are contract roles for the current school year, focused on delivering specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting. The ideal candidates will have experience working with students with autism and managing a caseload of 6-8 students. Each classroom is supported by two paraprofessionals, providing a collaborative environment to enhance student success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with special needs, specifically autism
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals to support student learning and behavior management
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
• municate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student growth

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois LBSI (Learning Behavior Specialist I) certification
• Experience in self-contained special education classrooms preferred
• Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and best practices in special education
• Effective classroom management and munication skills
