Denials/CDM Coordinator

The overall purpose of the position is to improve and optimize internal and external auditing processes, while also ensuring Graham Health System (GHS) adheres to all audit-related state and federal regulations. The position supports the system by reviewing claims for coding, documentation and billing accuracy, and root causes for all denials, as well as proposing process improvements to mitigate future denials. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing the RAC response process and assisting in the coordination of effective appeals at all levels of escalation. In addition, the position is responsible for developing and reinforcing effective business practices within all areas of revenue cycle as well as completing regular financial analysis of GHS activities. This position reports to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle.
Position Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent training acquired through a minimum of 2 years of coding experience in an acute care setting required
RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, COC, or CIC certification status preferred
ICD10CM/PCS training
Knowledgeable regarding ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding principles, government regulations, protocols and third-party payer requirements regarding billing and billing documentation.
Course in medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology required
Computer proficiency in Electronic Medical Record, Coding Software, Microsoft Office
