Position Details:

Position Type: Direct Hire / Contract

Job Location: Geneva, NY

Compensation: $21.64-33.66/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with SHE training programs, deliver training sessions as needed, and actively support the site Emergency Response Team.

• Enforce adherence to safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Industrial Hygiene, Working at Heights, and Emergency Response protocols.

• Promote Behavior-Based Safety initiatives, monitor participation, report key SHE metrics, and conduct recurring compliance inspections.

• Perform daily safety inspections and evaluate hazards related to new or modified operations.

• Investigate incidents, support root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

• Issue and manage safe work permits and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.

• Train, monitor, and manage contractors to ensure adherence to site SHE standards.

• Support hazardous and non-hazardous waste management programs, including proper documentation and compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain safety standards, housekeeping practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Associate’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related physical sciences preferred.
• Familiarity with NYS DEC, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
• Experience with incident investigation, risk assessment, and corrective action planning.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion independently.
• Proven ability to collaborate across functions and with external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to promote a strong safety culture and accountability at all organizational levels.
• Preferred certifications include:
  • EPA Hazardous Waste
  • DOT Hazardous Materials
  • OSHA 10/30-hour
  • ISO 14001, 45001, and/or 50001
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
