Job Title: Sit-Down Forklift Driver

Job Description

A well-established paper packaging manufacturer in the Waukegan area is seeking a skilled Sit-down Forklift Driver to join the receiving department.

This role involves operating a forklift and working within the warehouse environment and be on the forklift for a majority of the day (90%+ of day). The 1st shift schedule is 6:00am-2:30pm M-F and there is opportunity to work OT as well based off demands.

Responsibilities

• Move materials to and from machines to designated locations with the sit-down forklift and clamp truck.
• Document any damaged goods received, through visual inspections.
• Load and unload trucks using a sit-down or clamp forklift and pallet jack.
• Ensure that paperwork from all deliveries is submitted to the proper department.

Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of experience operating a sit-down OR clamp forklift
• Experience maneuvering in small spaces between machinery.
• Proficiency with a hand scanner and tablet.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

The work setting would include exposure to both the warehouse and production department depending on responsibilities at hand. The forklift material handler will also spend a majority of the day on the equipment. Ear plugs are required while on the manufacturing floor & Steel toe boots are mandatory for safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukegan, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
