POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Divisional VP, Finance & Accounting
  • Located in Bedford Park, IL
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join our finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and contributing to the month-end close process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and lead a team of accounting professionals.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure efficient and accurate daily operations.
Financial Transactions:

  • Oversee the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Review and approve journal entries for accuracy and compliance.
Month-End Close:

  • Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:

  • Generate and analyze financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and present financial information to management as needed.
Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement best practices in accounting processes.
Audit Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during audits.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
Ad Hoc Projects:

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Provide support in various financial analyses and projects.
COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Deadline-oriented with effective time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-6 years of relevant experience in accounting, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
  • Team management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
Compensation includes the posted base salary range and does not reflect potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities, where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related compensatory factors.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
