PTA Job Details – Glen Carbon, IL

• Location: Glen Carbon, Illinois 62034 (near St. Louis, MO)
• Healthcare Setting: Home Health Rehabilitation
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel PTA Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: Day shifts, 8-hour days (08:00 – 17:00), Monday–Friday
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1500–$1540
• Mileage: Reimbursed at $0.55/mile (territory radius 40–80 miles)
• Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancellation policy applies)
• Charting System: EPIC EMR
• Scrub Color: Any professional, clean appearance

Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), with home health experience required
• Active Illinois PTA license (required at time of application)
• Current BLS certification
• Prior travel PTA job experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, communication, and time management skills
• Must reside at least 75 miles from facility (no local candidates for this Illinois healthcare job)
• References preferred at time of submittal
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

PTA Responsibilities – Home Health Rehab

• Deliver high-quality rehabilitative care to adult and geriatric patients in their homes throughout Glen Carbon and surrounding Illinois areas
• Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapists to implement individualized care plans
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor progress, and document care using EPIC EMR
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and adaptive devices
• Assist with patient lifting, transfers, and use of assistive devices (gait belts, walkers, sliding boards, etc.)
• Perform strength testing, pain assessments, and monitor vital signs
• Order supplies, schedule appointments, and communicate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Travel within a 40–80 mile radius as needed for patient visits
• Maintain professionalism, organization, and ensure patient safety at all times
