Quality Assurance Pre-Op Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Op QA Technician to join our quality team! This role ensures all production areas and equipment are clean, sanitized, and verified prior to daily start-up. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance with company, federal, and kosher requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational inspections including visual checks, ATP and allergen swabbing, and verification of sanitation effectiveness.
• Communicate with the sanitation team to ensure all areas meet startup readiness.
• Calibrate and verify lab instrumentation daily.
• Conduct in-coming, in-process, and finished product testing .
• Monitor and document environmental, cooler/freezer, and equipment verification processes.
• Prepare samples for outside testing and maintain accurate documentation.
• Verify production quality parameters: temperatures, product codes, weights, labeling, and packaging.
• Assist in maintaining and reviewing SOPs and SSOPs .
• Complete all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately and on time.
• Perform other QA-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
• 1–2 years of QA/QC or food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work early morning hours (4:00 AM start time ).
• Strong communication skills in English (Spanish bilingual a plus).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring processes is a plus.
