Job Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of planning orders for assigned product portfolio(s) from order entry to installation completion and is operationally and financially accountable for successful project execution ensuring high quality and high customer satisfaction while meeting company margin targets. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest quality installation of Getinge equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions. The position will develop project timelines, assemble required project teams, visit construction sites, and maintain effective communication throughout the project. The position ensures quality and on-time delivery to our customers, oversees construction site preparedness and coordinates the overall installation process until handing over to Service.

Position Designations – Product Lines responsibilities for each:

IC- Infection Control Equipment (Sterilizers, Washers, Sinks and accessories)

SWP- Surgical Products (Lights, Booms, fixed tables and accessories)

SWF- Surgical Workflows Full Line (includes products listed in IC and SWP designations)

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Determine the appropriate staffing levels required for installations, schedule installation staff, and confirm staffing plan with customers, general contractors and sales representatives.
  • Coordinate integration schedule.
  • Ensure the quality of workmanship of installations and on-the-job training assistance is provided coupled with the effective use of all tools, procedures, and paperwork protocol is being followed.
  • Manage and evaluate external installation contractors. Provide direction on installation of Getinge products for both union and non-union contractors with onsite presence required when needed.
  • Properly utilize the Project Management Tool including required documentation, task updates, and schedules.
  • Manage the budget associated with various projects to ensure profit margin targets are met.
  • Assist in the process of design drawing review, approval, and sign-off and final drawing package distribution.
  • Monitor the production schedule with supply chain team and planners to ensure that the project remains on track.
  • Maintain contact with Logistics operations to confirm final shipment date.
  • Conduct pre-installation site inspection. Responsible for installation site readiness.
  • During the quoting process, work with the sales representative (Sales Team) to ensure technical accuracy and configuration planning and quoting.
  • Assist sales organization efforts to increase Getinge product market share and increase revenue.
  • Develop and maintain a business climate that fosters a positive and cooperative working relationship between customers, Getinge personnel, and third-party contractors and vendors.
  • Assist in the resolution of problems that may develop to the mutual benefit of the customer and Getinge. Regularly communicate with the Installation Specialists, Sales Representatives, Field Service Technicians, and Sr. Manager, Project Operations - SWIC.
  • Ensure all site labor is aware of site requirements (for example, working hours, safety equipment and training, reporting structure, etc.).
  • Perform installations and testing when needed according to Getinge specifications and verify equipment operation per manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure equipment is fully operable for Service to begin handling warranty calls.
  • Comply with all health and safety codes and procedures and quality standards as mandated by Getinge policies, customer/contractor requirements, and regulatory agencies.
  • Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers, contractors, and all Getinge personnel.
  • Maintain personal competence for meeting job responsibilities through effective use of product information and technical data provided by Getinge and others. Participate in training seminars, meetings, and on-the-job training programs.
  • Accurately prepare and submit all required reports within the specified timeframe.
  • Maintain expenses and limits established by Company policy.
  • Promote Company products and services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the application of technical principles, practices, and procedures relating to product line.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of specified function area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Excellent understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships
  • Establish and cultivate an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of technical assignments.
  • Able to lead a project team when required.
  • Provide input to management on technical and business solutions and generate relevant reports.
  • Exercise sound business judgment when selecting innovative and practical methods to achieve problem resolution.
  • Able to evaluate and interpret extensive data to help formulate decisions and / or recommendation.
  • Advanced to Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, diagnostic skills, and the ability to interpret blueprints and installation drawings.
  • Must be able to safely and correctly manipulate and utilize required hand tools.

Supervision/Management of Others

  • Functional/technical supervision of outside contractors and service providers

Internal and External Contacts/Relationships

  • Getinge customers.
  • SWIC Team.
  • Follow up with all levels of management
  • 3rd Party Contractors

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions

  • Responsible for understanding and conforming with the Environmental Policy to ensure that significant environmental aspects that relate to actual or potential impacts with their work are executed to minimized the effects on the environment.
  • Responsible for bringing to the attention of management any potential improvements that could reduce our environmental impact or to report activities that could result in a negative impact to the environment.
  • Responsible for understanding and conforming with the Health and Safety Policy to ensure that the significant risks that relate to actual or potential hazards with their work are identified.
  • Travel up to 75% depending on project location and customer demand.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs.

Annual salary of 97,000-120,000 with 10% STIP
