Information Security Analyst - Contract

Hourly pay rate: $52.70

Job Responsibilities

• Works on an Information Security team alongside engineers to analyze and monitor the organization's information security measures.
• Responds to actual penetration attempts and security threats from malicious actors.
• Operates with moderate autonomy while maintaining access to senior team members and/or a Scrum Master for guidance.
• May assign, coordinate, and review portions of work to support junior personnel.
• Demonstrates proficiency in one functional area and is developing proficiency in other information security domains.
• Uses Information Security tools to analyze events and data with an understanding of access patterns and their expected outcomes.
• Delivers core tasks related to cybersecurity and begins working with more complex security patterns.
• Develops and executes information security plans and policies; contributes to design and implementation of disaster recovery and contingency plans.
• Protects digital files and information systems from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction; implements and/or provides input on security measures such as firewalls and encryption.
• Monitors system performance and alerts security experts of abnormalities.
• Maintains data security and monitors access; conducts internal and external security audits.
• Manages network, intrusion detection, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Analyzes security breaches to determine root cause; isolates faults and provides prompt resolution.

Job Requirements

• Understanding of database administration, design, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of network security and network administration.
• Familiarity with operating system environments and their security mechanisms.
• Ability to follow processes and utilize security administration tools effectively.
• Knowledge of computer security policies and general security concepts.
• Education:
  • Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Experience (1-3 Years):
  • Working with applications, data, infrastructure, and/or IT security.
  • General computer security or IT auditing.
  • Working in an Agile environment.
