Inventory Control Specialist
Join our clients team as a Materials Planner/Inventory Control Clerk, a critical role responsible for coordinating the flow of work and materials across departments to meet production schedules. In this role candidates should possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and have 1-5 years of related professional experience. Proficiency with essential tools and technology is also required, including general office equipment, a counting scale, and computer skills, which are necessary for performing various functions across all positions within the department. Contract duration: 6 months Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm M-F location: Urbana, Illinois

education: High School responsibilities:
- Manage inventory, including receiving, counting, storing, and organizing stock items (both manually and using computer systems).
- Maintain accurate inventory counts by verifying computations, investigating discrepancies, and preparing for the annual physical inventory and audit.
- Plan, review, and distribute all production, work, and shipment schedules.
- Process and prioritize work orders and purchase orders, determining proper quantities for project resource allocations.
- Generate reports on work progress, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
- Track and manage part allocations to projects, and communicate with Purchasing and the Machine Shop to resolve material issues.
- Inspect stock items for wear or defects, and ensure storage areas comply with safety regulations.
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities, train, assist, and mentor Inventory Control personnel.
- Monitor project status, expedite delayed operations, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Assist other departments with walk-up situations and confer with supervisors/engineers to resolve production problems.
