Reports To: Studio Manager / Lead Instructor Position Summary
YogaSix Downers Grove is seeking passionate, energetic, and experienced Yoga Teachers to lead energizing, empowering and fun yoga classes while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for members. Yoga Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality classes aligned with the YogaSix methodology, inspiring members, and contributing to a positive studio culture. YogaSix focuses on making yoga accessible, empowering, and enjoyable for practitioners of all levels. Essential Responsibilities
- Lead YogaSix class formats according to brand standards and programming.
- Provide clear verbal instruction, demonstrations, and alignment cues.
- Offer modifications and progressions to accommodate varying fitness and experience levels.
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and judgment-free class environment.
- Build relationships with members and foster a strong sense of community.
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes and studio events.
- Maintain current knowledge of YogaSix programming, teaching methodology, and continuing education requirements.
- Assist with member retention through exceptional class experiences.
- Support studio promotions, workshops, and community events as needed.
- Ensure studio cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
- 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT-200) from a recognized training program.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Ability to teach safe and effective classes to participants of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Passion for health, wellness, and community building.
- One or more years of yoga or group fitness instruction experience preferred.
- Ability to teach multiple class formats.
- Ability to demonstrate yoga postures and movement patterns.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously during classes.
- Capability to lift and move studio equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in heated room environments when required.
