JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Golf Managers, the Cook is responsible for preparations of food orders, preparations of condiments, maintaining a clean operational kitchen environment. Assist Golf Managers with food inventory and menu planning. The Cook may also be assigned other duties and responsibilities in the operation of both Foss Park Golf Course and Foss Park District.

Qualifications - Education, Experience and Training

Minimum 18 . High School Diploma or Equivalent. Basic knowledge of food preparation, show attention to detail and demonstrate strong communication skills. Previous experience as a cook is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Essential Functions
• Maintains safe, sanitary, food handling practices, which comply with all requirements of the Lake County Health Department.
• Ability to prepare all items listed on menu per Manager's guidelines.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and customers
• Responsible for assisting in ordering, receiving, and controlling inventory.
• Regularly inspects the kitchen, grillroom, and banquet room to ensure safe, sanitary, and attractive conditions and practices.
• Must obtain a State of Illinois Food Sanitation License.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be at friendly, outgoing, and responsible. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of golf and prior experience working with the public or customer service is helpful.

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a seasonal position starting in April and ending in November (weather dependent). You can expect to work about 10-25 hours per week. Scheduling will includes various shifts Monday through Sunday. Pay is $15.00 / hour.
