Speech-Language Pathologist Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
• Healthcare Setting: 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana 70601
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5x8-hour day shifts (7:30 am – 4:00 pm)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2170 - $2230

SLP Qualifications

• Active Louisiana Speech-Language Pathologist license (required for Louisiana SLP jobs)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience (2+ years and inpatient rehab experience preferred)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations and therapy for adult patients in an inpatient rehab setting
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support patient recovery and independence
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document patient progress, outcomes, and therapy sessions according to facility and healthcare standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient discharge planning
• Float to other hospital units as needed, following facility policy and orientation procedures
