POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable/Payroll Associate plays a key role in supporting the financial health of MorningStar Mission Ministries. You'll be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, payroll, and receivables. This role is vital to maintaining efficient day-to-day financial operations, managing expense allocations, and supporting the annual audit. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review all invoices and purchase orders for appropriate documentation and approval
  2. Enter invoices into accounting system paying attention to proper classification and allocation
  3. Print and obtain signatures on bill payments/checks
  4. Answer vendor inquiries
  5. Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and company payable files.
  6. Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
  7. Verify pay according to hours worked incorporating leave and overtime.
  8. Prepare reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave and non-taxable wages.
  9. Ensure all quarterly and annual payroll reports are completed and submitted by payroll provider (PayCor).
  10. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  11. Provide support to the Director of Finance for annual audit and end-of-year requirements.
  12. Supports the Christian values and ethics of MorningStar Mission with guests, staff and vendors
  13. At any time, with or without notice, performs other duties and activities as assigned
  14. Position may work from home up to two days per week with prior approval

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Positive Christian testimony.
  2. Submit to a background check.
  3. Highly organized, with great attention to detail, able to maintain meticulous records
  4. Reliable and extremely trustworthy; able and willing to maintain confidentiality
  5. Solid understanding of bookkeeping/accounting principles and accounts payable functions
  6. Good communications skills – written and oral
  7. Ability to be self-directed and work independently
  8. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, Google products, Quickbooks, and must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
  9. Able and willing to work as a member of a team
  10. A commitment to serving others

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. At least 2 years’ accounting related experience is required, preferably in non-profit.
  2. A high school diploma at a minimum. Associates or Bachelors in a related field preferred
  3. Experience with QuickBooks and Paycor desired.

Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
