At Buttercup, you will be responsible for consistently crafting high-quality bar beverages while also presenting an approachable and elevated experience by following Buttercup service standards. As a bartender, you will welcome guests warmly, learn their preferences (including allergies associated), educate guests on our amaro and café (where applicable) programs, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages to order. Other duties include preparing the bar for service and ensuring it is in pristine condition. Success in this role requires a duty to hospitality, teamwork, and obsession with details.


A Buttercup team member holds themselves and their teammates accountable to the Buttercup service standards and values. A Buttercup bar team member is approachable, engaging, and polished.

Main Duties:
  • Work varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, & closes
  • Prepare all cocktail program components including juices, syrups, garnishes, and batches
  • Label, date, and initial all perishable items accurately
  • Assist with receiving, unboxing, stocking, and organizing liquor deliveries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all beverage prep areas
  • Check freshness of ingredients and rotate stock accordingly
  • Communicate with management on par adjustments due to overages or shortages
  • Recommend updates to prep sheets for improved efficiency
  • As needed, assist kitchen team with stocking deliveries
  • Uphold responsible alcohol service standards
  • Serve guests at the bar top
  • Positively influence members and guests experience by elevating the dining experience with food and drink pairing options and discussing specials to drive sales through consistent and approachable communication and the highest level of service in accordance with Buttercup service standards
  • Maintain communication and advise Floor Manager/Kitchen/Management on any allergies or potential red flags encountered throughout the night to mitigate any forecasted risk
  • Accurately complete all check out reports at the end of each shift
  • Adhere to health and safety policies as well as all Buttercup policies, procedures, standards and local, state, and federal law as applicable
  • Assist in running orders (kitchen and bar), bussing tables to support all table orders
  • Clean and stock server service areas, polish silverware, plates and/or glassware as needed
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of the menu, always ready and looking to make suggestions and upsell items
  • Provide consistently exceptional service, anticipating guest needs and creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Collaborate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
  • Maintain clean and organized table settings throughout service
  • Accurately process payments and handle transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Serv-Safe, Allergen and Basset Certified with POS knowledge
  • Fine dining experience preferred
  • Knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and bar techniques
  • Maintain a sharp, neatly-groomed and polished appearance at all times
  • Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy with a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules across seven days, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Thrive in elevated, fast-paced environments and maintain a calm professional demeanor, effectively problem solving under pressure

  • Basic knowledge and a strong interest in amaro - willing to study and learn about our extensive amaro library and educate our guests

* candidates without cocktail and bar experience will not be considered.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat
