Davis-Houk Mechanical, Inc. is a full-service mechanical, plumbing, and insulation contracting firm, serving all of downstate Illinois and southwestern Indiana. DHM is a leading provider of plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers. DHM has offices in Charleston and Urbana, IL. The company has extensive experience in both design/build and competitive bid projects.

Davis-Houk Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a full-time Project Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience or have studied with a focus in construction-related work, be technically minded, and excited to learn. Proficiency in operating a computer and using Microsoft Office is required. Must be organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and coordinate with others’ needs and deadlines. A degree in Engineering or Construction is preferred but not required. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and other Autodesk products is a plus. Position is in person with normal working hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch. Work will include but not be limited to the following:

· Review and understand construction plan and specification documents

· Manage submittal process start to finish including sending/receiving and logging

· Assist in creating, sending, and logging RFI’s

· Create change order log for each project and assist project management with execution of RFP’s and CO’s

· Update project files to capture plan updates, RFI responses, and other changes

· Coordinate and document estimated ship dates with vendors and provide tracking means with project management/superintendent staff

· Manage Dropbox or any other tool for sharing project information to the field

· Manage material pricing and software updates for our estimating software

· Assist in managing our upcoming bid list and files for bids

· Request and assemble operation and maintenance manuals and send to customers/clients

· Receive as-built drawings, scan, save, and send to customers/clients

· Coordinate with warehouse manager to document and log stored material/equipment

· Provide estimating/project management assistance as required throughout project phase

· Collect project data and information for use in reporting to Project Managers and upper management

Competitive salary will be based on experience and skill level. On the job training. Benefits package includes:

· Two (2) weeks paid time off each year (eligible after 90 days of employment). Three (3) weeks yearly paid time off after three years of service.
