The Latinos Unidos Sponsor will supervise students during meetings. The Sponsor will supervise students in planning and executing events throughout the year. The Sponsor will organize approved fundraisers throughout the year in order to meet the needs of the club's expenses as applicable. Latinos Unidos is a student-led organization focused on celebrating and promoting Latino culture, providing a supportive space for students of Latino heritage, and raising awareness about their diverse experiences within the Yorkville community. Students meet to focus on cultural celebration, community engagement, social connection, and leadership development.

• Maintains attendance records for club meetings and events
• Hosting events celebrating important Latino holidays such as Hispanic Heritage Month and Dia de los Muertos.
• Organizing cultural awareness to educate the wider student body.
• Sharing information about Latino history, traditions, music, food, and art through presentations, workshops, and guest speakers.
• Creating a supportive network for students to connect and build relationships.
• Empowering students to take leadership roles within the club.
• Providing opportunities for members to develop organizational and event planning skills.
• Follows fundraising procedures according to District policies
• Recruits student participants each school year
• Requests room space for meetings and events
• Manages and supervises the use of facilities during activities and events
• Promotes and publicizes club meetings and events
• Engages students in community service activities
• Maintains positive relationships with students and interacts with students and adults in a respectful manner
• Uses appropriate channels to resolve concerns and problems
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the club
• Completes all training and certification required by the District
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:


SKILLS: Organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision. Must show evidence of strong leadership and organizational skills.
KNOWLEDGE: Previous successful experience in sponsorship/mentoring preferred. Substantial knowledge in the area of student support, as well as familiarity with student discipline and safety protocols.
ABILITY: Establish and maintain positive and supportive working relationships with all stakeholders to be flexible and change as needed.


Salary Range: Head Sponsor Level 2 $1,677- $2,809 based on experience
