• Nursing Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000–$2050

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent operating room or surgical nursing experience

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care and support within the surgical unit
• Implement procedures and nursing theories for optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation for integration by the healthcare team
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation and patient/family needs
• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients, including wound and ostomy management
• Monitor and care for tracheostomized patients and those requiring wound vac therapy
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery
• Collaborate with surgical and residency teams to ensure quality patient care
• Promote patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards
• Engage in professional development and support peers through constructive feedback
