Position Summary
The Restaurant Manager (RM) plays a key role in the daily operations of the restaurant, helping lead service excellence, financial performance, team development, and guest satisfaction. This is an entry-level management role ideal for individuals seeking long-term growth in hospitality leadership.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Promote and uphold 4 Star’s core values and operational standards.
- Actively coach, develop, and support hourly team members through clear communication and consistent feedback.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary conversations.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and active floor presence.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.
- Collaborate with the management team on daily operations, staff scheduling, and performance improvement initiatives.
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Manage labor effectively during shifts to align with forecasted business needs.
- Monitor ordering and inventory in accordance with budget guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to operational systems and processes as established by the company.
- Conduct routine audits (cleanliness, safety, guest experience) and follow through on corrective actions.
- Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local health, safety, and labor regulations.
- Maintain shift routines for opening, mid-shift, and closing to ensure service and cleanliness standards are met.
Guest Experience
- Actively engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns in real time.
- Support kitchen and bar execution to meet target ticket times and service quality standards.
- Communicate guest feedback with team members for ongoing service improvement.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant management or key-holder experience in a high-volume environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop staff
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Tech-savvy and able to work with restaurant software and reporting tools
- Passion for hospitality, team development, and results-driven leadership
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping required
- Exposure to various environmental conditions including indoor/outdoor dining, low lighting, and food allergens
- Must be able to work in loud environments and communicate clearly with guests and team members
