Senior Human Resources Manager

Lake Forest College, one of the top liberal arts schools in the Midwest, is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to administer day-to-day human resources functions as well as advise on related issues. The successful candidate will be a versatile HR generalist, adept at handling multiple areas of HR, collaborating with campus stakeholders, and implementing strategic HR initiatives. Employee Relations- Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies and procedures.
- Work with supervisors on employee coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
- Partner on interdepartmental projects to support employees.
- Ensure accuracy of data in ADP Workforce Now.
- Collect and analyze HR data and metrics
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and external entities.
- Optimize usage of ADP modules.
- Develop job descriptions and postings with supervisors, identify targeted recruitment sources, and post jobs.
- Implement and manage Recruitment module in ADP Workforce Now.
- Create and conduct formal onboarding program with HR Generalist.
- Administer benefits programs, including compliance and audit responsibilities.
- Execute annual open enrollment process in ADP Workforce Now.
- Manage time off programs, FMLA, accommodations, and Worker’s Compensation.
- Manage performance evaluation process in ADP for staff employees.
- Track and review payroll items.
- Research compliance-related issues and recommend changes.
- Provide training to managers on HR topics.
- Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience
- 5 years of related HR generalist experience required with strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Proficiency with HRIS systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to make appropriate decisions and use good judgment
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple shifting priorities
- Proficiency with multiple modules of ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
- Experience working in a college or nonprofit setting
- Experience with benefits administration
- Familiarity with immigration processes helpful
- SHRM or HRCI certification
Salary: $ 95 - 110K
