Job Description:
Terlato Wine Group (TWG) is a fourth-generation, family-owned luxury beverage company that imports, markets, and produces fine wines and spirits. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader serves as a strategic finance partner to the executive team — translating commercial activity into clear financial insight and supporting decisions on brand investment, pricing, M&A, and capital allocation. The role manages a small FP&A team and works cross-functionally with sales, marketing, supply chain, winemaking, and accounting. Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning, Budgeting & Forecasting
• Own the planning cycle: Lead the annual operating plan, reforecasts, and three-year strategic plan across all operating entities.
• Drive integrated modeling: Build and maintain integrated financial models linking depletions, shipments, gross margin, A&P spend, operating expenses, and working capital.
• Volume and revenue planning: Partner with brand and sales leaders to develop bottom-up volume, price, and mix forecasts at the brand, SKU, and channel level.
• Executive reporting: Translate consolidated results and variances into clear narratives for the CEO, CFO, and ownership.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
• Commercial finance: Evaluate brand profitability, supplier P&Ls, distributor performance, and trade spend ROI to inform commercial strategy.
• Production economics: Support winery and vineyard operations with cost-of-goods modeling, vintage and bulk wine valuation, capacity planning, and capital project evaluation.
• Direct to Consumer (DTC): Support DTC business with sales analysis and business recommendations.
• Investment analysis: Build investment cases and post-mortem reviews for new brand launches, supplier agreements, vineyard acquisitions, and capital projects.
Reporting, Analytics & Systems
• Management reporting: Own the monthly management reporting package, KPI dashboards, and board-level financial materials.
• Process improvement: Continuously improve forecasting models, reporting cadence, and self-service analytics for business partners.
• Systems and data: Partner with IT and Accounting on the evolution of ERP, planning, and BI tools to scale the finance function.
• KPIs and governance: Establish, monitor, and report on financial and operational KPIs across import, winery, and corporate functions.
Leadership
• Team leadership: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing FP&A team; coach analysts and managers on technical and commercial skills.
• Influence: Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and an effective communicator with non-finance stakeholders.
• Culture: Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance organization.
Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field; master’s degree a plus
• Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles, including demonstrated ownership of budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Leadership: Prior people-management experience or clear evidence of leading cross-functional projects and developing analysts.
• Technical: Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; fluency with ERP and planning/BI systems; familiarity with Artificial Intelligence use and prompt development
• Communication: Track record of distilling complex data into clear recommendations for executive audiences; ability to turn numbers into stories.
