Job Description The O'Hare Lottery Manager oversees the daily operation of airport lottery kiosks, ensuring compliance with Illinois State Lottery regulations while maximizing sales, efficiency, and customer service. This role manages lottery vending machines, cash handling, and ticket inventory in a fast-paced airport environment. The Manager provides leadership, supports employee development, including employees with developmental disabilities-and ensures secure, accurate, and profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Train, schedule, and supervise lottery kiosk staff; provide coaching, performance feedback, and team communication.
- Oversee daily functionality, stocking, and cleanliness of lottery vending machines; troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate repairs with service providers.
- Manage large-scale cash handling, including collection, reconciliation, deposits, reporting, and discrepancy resolution in accordance with audit standards.
- Forecast ticket demand, place and manage inventory orders, rotate stock, and analyze sales trends to optimize profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with Illinois State Lottery policies, security protocols, and internal controls, support audits and investigations.
- Maintain high customer service standards, promote lottery sales opportunities, and uphold professional kiosk presentations.
- Complete administrative tasks including recordkeeping, reporting, budget support, and operational planning.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum one year of experience in retail, gaming, or lottery operations, with strong cash-handling and technical troubleshooting skills. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Requirements & Working Conditions Must be eligible to work with the Illinois State Lottery, obtain airport security clearance, and pass a background check. Work occurs in a busy airport setting with extended standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.
