Legal Assistant

Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Legal Assistant in its Chicago office. In this role, the legal assistant will provide administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys and provide backup to other attorneys as requested, and assist with administrative tasks as it relates to the specific office and attorneys.

Job Description:

• Ability to handle pressure, interruptions and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines
• Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Perform administrative duties, including proofreading and editing all materials for extreme accuracy and clarity
• E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions
• Knowledge of legal documents and terminology
• Knowledge of expense reporting, billing and dictation
• Assist with calendar calls and deposition scheduling, as needed
• Assist with travel plans, as needed
• Other duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Human Resources

Requirements/Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation defense required
• Exceptional organization skills
• Positive attitude
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Teamwork oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Benefits:
This role offers an hourly salary and bonus opportunity. The hourly salary range for this position is $28.00 to $42.00. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers a full benefits package.
