Job Summary:
The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of revenue recognition, billing reconciliations, and AR-related financial reporting. This role partners closely with operations, billing, and FP&A to ensure GAAP compliant revenue processes and timely identification of risks and opportunities in revenue trends. Additionally, this position manages the Directorship Program, overseeing receivables and physician compensation associated with contracted directorship arrangements. The ideal candidate brings experience in a high-growth, private equity-backed environment and a deep understanding of NetSuite and the healthcare revenue cycle. This is a full-time remote position with a Monday – Friday work schedule, 40 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage end-to-end revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including ASC 606 compliance.
2. Reconcile revenue and accounts receivable to billing systems and general ledger.
3. Investigate and document variances in revenue-related balance sheet accounts.
4. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including revenue deferrals, bad debt reserves, and contractual allowances.
5. Maintain and improve revenue accounting workflows, internal controls, and SOP documentation.
6. Collaborate with billing and collections teams to ensure proper revenue cut-off and accurate accruals.
7. Lead the Directorship Program, including:
- Tracking receivables related to directorship contracts
- Calculating and accruing physician compensation tied to directorship responsibilities
- Coordinating with operational leads and legal to ensure contract terms are accurately reflected in financials
8. Maintaining documentation and controls around payment approvals and compliance.
9. Partner with finance and operations to drive reporting clarity around payer mix, volume trends, directorship compensation, and revenue drivers.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in revenue-focused roles.
3. Advanced NetSuite knowledge and experience
4. Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606).
5. Experience with physician compensation models and contract review
6. Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth organizations
7. Experience with multi-entity and intercompany environments.
8. Proficient in Excel, including VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, and data validation.
9. Healthcare or revenue cycle background is strongly preferred.
