Job Description

The Thought Leader Liaison Director (TLLD) is a field‑based, non‑sales leadership role responsible for engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the Gamifant Immunology therapeutic areas. The position ensures that appropriate cross‑functional resources are coordinated to support scientific exchange, advocacy development, and compliant commercial collaboration.

Primary Focus Areas:

  • KOL engagement within Primary Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (pHLH) and Macrophage Activation Syndrome (MAS)
  • Executive encounter management
  • Collaboration with Marketing and other internal partners

All TLLD activities must be conducted on‑label and in full compliance with commercial, legal, and regulatory guidelines.

The TLLD works within approved SOPs and collaborates closely with field‑based colleagues — including Commercial Business Directors (CBDs), Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs), and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) — as well as home‑office partners in Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Market Access.

Key success behaviors include:

  • Strong collaboration and communication across functions
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Effective relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Consistent delivery of tactical initiatives and timely feedback

The TLLD reports to the National Director, Thought Leader Liaison.

Responsibilities:

The Thought Leader Liaison Director (TLLD) role focuses on four key areas of responsibility: KOL Engagement, Advocate Development, Marketing Collaboration, and Executive Encounters.

KOL Engagement:

  • Align with cross‑functional account plans and teams to orchestrate marketing and commercial resources for the top 10–15% of KOLs.
  • Identify, profile, cultivate, and maintain long‑term relationships with KOLs within the pHLH and MAS community.
  • Conduct compliant, on‑label discussions focused on product, disease state, and company topics in appropriate venues.
  • Execute approved KOL programs (e.g., disease‑state or product education) as directed by leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with field teams (MSLs, FRMs, CBDs) to ensure strategic and tactical alignment for each assigned KOL.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to resolve KOL commercial or marketing issues when directed by Gamifant Marketing leadership or Headquarters.
  • Apply a customer‑centric, needs‑based approach to KOL engagement and resource coordination.
  • Plan and execute KOL executive encounters at local, regional, and national conferences, POAs, and other approved venues in partnership with MSLs and cross‑functional colleagues.
  • Liaise between KOLs and home‑office teams, ensuring compliant communication and alignment across commercial and marketing initiatives.

Advocate Development:

  • Support on‑label KOL advocate development by providing education using approved materials and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Marketing to identify and nurture emerging advocates within the rare disease community.

Marketing Collaboration:

  • Gather and relay KOL feedback on new pHLH and MAS franchise and brand‑related marketing strategies and materials, ensuring all requests and materials are approved by Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory.
  • Provide actionable insights to commercial leadership to inform strategy and execution.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for speaker logistics and scheduling, ensuring seamless cross‑functional communication.
  • Recommend and support advisory board participation, attending sessions as appropriate and approved.
  • Provide speaker recommendations to Marketing as requested, ensuring alignment with compliance and brand objectives.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry:
    • Field sales

  • Prior Thought Leader Liaison or equivalent field-based experience, with demonstrated ability to engage and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in a compliant, patient-focused manner.
