Brass Fittings CNC Production Technician

Your mission

Help Anderson Fittings— a contract manufacturer of brass fittings for plumbing and industrial markets— deliver precision parts by running and caring for two automated high speed rotary transfer machining centers.

Impact you’ll make

• Convert brass forgings into finished parts that meet specification and quality targets.
• Keep machines at rate through accurate setups, smart tool changes, and timely offsets.
• Use SPC data to control processes and prevent defects before they happen.

Core responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and adjust rotary transfer machine centers; replace drills/tools and fine-tune offsets as needed.
• Conduct in-process inspections with micrometers, calipers, and other gages; log results in computer SPC software.
• Diagnose and resolve tooling issues to protect quality and throughput.
• Monitor fluids; perform daily light preventive maintenance.
• Remove/process chips and keep the area and machines clean.
• Load machines and manage production to the documented part machining rates.
• Record daily production and report any issues during the shift.
• Follow safety rules and housekeeping standards.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Training & schedule

Training starts on day shift, then transitions to 3rd shift in approximately 3–5 weeks. 3rd Shift - 10:00pm - 6:30am

Qualifications

• Self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with robot-loaded equipment (plus).
• Computer and machine control familiarity (plus).
• Skilled using micrometers, calipers, bore micrometers, and related measuring tools.
• 3+ years CNC experience in close-tolerance machining or relevant coursework in Precision Machine Technology or Mechanical Production Technology.

Physical demands

Frequent standing, bending, and lifting; able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and periodically 20–40 lbs.
