Job Description
This position oversees engineering initiatives within a co-packing and distribution setting, serving as both a technical specialist and a strategic partner to operations and client teams. The role requires someone who can design scalable solutions, lead improvement efforts, and support both new-site launches and ongoing performance optimization. The individual in this role will work closely with diverse internal groups and customers, applying engineering expertise to enhance processes, introduce automation where appropriate, and strengthen overall operational performance. Adherence to all site and company quality, safety, and compliance expectations is essential.
Responsibilities

Guide and develop a small team of industrial engineering professionals.

Influence cross-functional groups to advance engineering priorities.

Manage projects from initial concept through execution.

Contribute to new-site ramp-ups by establishing workflows, operating plans, SOPs, and layout designs.

Create and revise warehouse floor plans using AutoCAD.

Assess storage methods, material-flow strategies, and space utilization for peak efficiency.

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and incorporate automation.

Prepare ROI assessments and long-term improvement roadmaps.

Evaluate technologies, vendors, and automation options aligned with business needs.

Collaborate with IT and systems partners to test integrations and ensure alignment with operational goals.

Verify that system functionality matches engineered design requirements.

Support solution-design and operations during commercial bids by building cost models and presenting engineered solutions.

Assist with vendor evaluations and ensure procurement decisions support long-term value.

Work directly with clients to customize engineering strategies for their programs.

Build performance-tracking tools and dashboards.

Conduct time studies, capacity modeling, and workflow reviews.

Use IE methodologies to optimize labor, equipment, and facility assets.

Continuously review and refine processes to improve service, throughput, and productivity.
Essential Skills
-
Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering (or related field) with 6+ years of experience or Master's with 4+ years.

Background in operations, manufacturing, warehousing, or automation-related environments.

Hands-on experience with continuous improvement and process optimization.

Advanced Excel skills; working proficiency with AutoCAD.

Familiarity with WMS functionality.

Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Willingness to support operational and system needs as they arise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic experience with Power BI.

Introductory knowledge of SQL.

Experience with automation or systems-integration projects.

Exposure to reporting, data-visualization tools, or operational analytics.

The role is set within a dynamic co-packing and distribution environment, requiring collaboration with internal teams and clients. The position involves creating and optimizing workflows, using technologies such as AutoCAD, and engaging with IT partners for systems integration. The work schedule may vary based on project demands
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Country Club Hills, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
Competitive Total Rewards Package: Attractive annual salary of $125,000-$145,000 plus a performance-based bonus, with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and more.

This is a fully onsite position in Country Club Hills,IL.
