AssociateCounsel - Legal Business Partner

We are currently looking for an Associate Counsel to join our office in Chicago, IL to support our client relationships, partnerships and delivery. ZS is a global consulting firm with leading-edge analytics, technology and strategy expertise, creating solutions for clients that work in the real world. Our clients are in industries ranging from healthcare to high-tech to financial services and beyond. The ZS Legal Team offers a collaborative working environment to support ZS fast-growing, innovative and cutting-edge services and technology products. We are looking for someone who is ready to partner with our business teams to cover all aspects of client engagements, including negotiating complex client transactions, partnering with internal stakeholders on legal issues that arise out of client work, and steering long-term projects while working with others within the legal team.

What Youll Do:

• Serve as a trusted business partner for ZS stakeholders that support our client engagements;
• Prepare review, revise and negotiate legal documents to ensure the firms obligations are compatible with managements philosophy
• Respond to issues as they arise in diverse matters affecting day-to-day business operations by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters
• Collaborate with others on the legal team and within ZS when subject matter expertise is required;
• Ensure the firms compliance with legal policies, state and federal laws, and regulations;
• Identify potential legal issues related to proposed transactions;
• Participate in structuring and negotiating transactions and set procedures to reduce risk.

What Youll Bring:

• JD degree with strong academic background required
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience, IL attorney license (or registered in-house counsel in IL)
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Motivation, personal initiative and strong team/interpersonal skills
• Strong analytic skills and problem solving ability
• Proven attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Enthusiasm for global collaboration
• Experience negotiating agreements
• Ability to manage and complete long-term projects independently
