About the Role
MedOp Solutions is partnering with a cardiovascular-focused hospital campus in Glenbrook, Illinois to hire an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse for a high-acuity critical care assignment.
This role is based in a specialized Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill cardiac and post-cardiac intervention patients. The ideal candidate has strong CVICU experience, advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills, and the ability to manage complex cardiovascular patient populations in a fast-paced environment.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced critical care nurses seeking exposure to advanced cardiovascular therapies and technologies including Impella, LVADs, CRRT, and post-cardiac surgical care.

Patient Types & Clinical Focus
- Cardiovascular critical care patients
- Post-cardiac surgery patients
- Cardiac catheterization/intervention recovery patients
- Multi-system organ failure
- Advanced heart failure patients
- Dysrhythmia management
- Mechanical circulatory support patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients
- Monitor and manage advanced cardiac and hemodynamic support devices
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Manage patients requiring CRRT/CVVHD and advanced IV therapies
- Care for post-CABG and valve replacement/repair patients
- Monitor Swan Ganz/Pulmonary Artery lines
- Administer blood products and manage arterial and central lines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary cardiovascular care teams
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license required
- BLS/CPR certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 3 years of CVICU experience required
- Passing EKG test score of 80% or higher required at submission
Required Clinical Skills
Candidates must have experience with:
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Multi-system organ failure
- Thermoregulation
- CABG patient care
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Impella support
- Post cardiac surgery recovery (not directly from OR)
- Pre/Post cardiac cath and intervention care
- Swan Ganz/Pulmonary Artery line monitoring
- Valve replacement and repair patient care
- LVAD/RVAD management
- CVVHD/CRRT
- IV therapy including:
- Port access
- Arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line care
- PICC line management
- Peripheral IV starts
Preferred Experience
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with ECMO
- Advanced Impella management
- LVAD patient management
Scheduling & Expectations
- 12-hour day shifts
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating may occur to other ICU units within the health system
Orientation & Onboarding
- Start Date: Within 2 weeks of offer
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Client pays 50% up to 16 hours
- Credentials Due: Thursday prior to start date
- Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

- Passing EKG test score (80% or higher)
