Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Active IL license required Certifications: BLS and NIH required Must-Have: - Med/Surg experience required - Preferred skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response - Preferred experience in telemetry and rapid response teams - Preferred skills in post-angiogram and post-myocardial infarction care - Preferred experience with IV insulin protocols - Preferred skills in colostomy and feeding tube care - Preferred experience in pre/post-hemodialysis management - Preferred skills in renal failure management - Preferred phlebotomy and IV therapy skills including blood product administration and central line management - Preferred medication administration skills including heparin and insulin - Preferred experience in stroke care and orthopedic trauma - Preferred experience with chest tubes and non-invasive airway management - Preferred knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care Description: Position is for a Med Surg RN. Shift is 3x12 nights. Average daily census is 21 with a patient ratio of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends. Will work every other weekend. Floating within the scope to meet facility needs is required. BLS and NIH certifications are mandatory. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates are encouraged to discuss schedule requests. Local candidates are welcome to apply. No more than 5 days of request time off is preferred. The client may cancel up to 36 hours without compensation for the cancelled hours. Med/Surg experience is a requirement. Preferred skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience. The work involves a variety of patient diagnoses including respiratory illness, infection, trauma, and surgical overflow. Nursing treatments performed include dressing changes, IV medications, and wound care. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, social services, and pharmacy.
