Job Description:

The Import Operations Specialist plays a key role in managing the full lifecycle of purchase orders and international logistics operations. This position will oversee day-to-day order execution, ensure accuracy in documentation, and act as a liaison across internal departments and global manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the intake, validation, and processing of customer purchase orders, ensuring accurate system entry and maintenance
• Lead and mentor a small operations team, driving accountability, efficiency, and high-quality output
• Coordinate with overseas manufacturers to submit orders, troubleshoot discrepancies, and resolve production or pricing issues
• Communicate proactively with internal teams regarding order status, risks, inventory changes, and production timelines
• Serve as the primary operations contact for select accounts, overseeing all aspects of order and import coordination
• Ensure all shipping and import documentation (invoices, packing lists, compliance paperwork, etc.) is complete and accurate
• Partner with finance and vendors to review, approve, or dispute factory-related charges
• Review product specifications and packaging requirements to confirm alignment with customer and regulatory standards
• Oversee labeling and carton marking accuracy to meet client-specific requirements
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve processes, and enhance operational visibility

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or order management, ideally within consumer goods
• Prior experience working with international vendors and import/export processes
• Previous team leadership experience a plus
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar systems acceptable)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving capabilities
